Leaving Disability at the Dockside

James Dunn

James’s affinity for the water is evident in every aspect of his life, from his leisurely honeymoon spent navigating the picturesque Caledonian Canal to his professional pursuits. In December 2021, James assumed leadership of Wetwheels South East, where he can often be found either at the helm of a boat or managing operations from the desk.

Having dedicated 15 years to Kent Search and Rescue and NSARDA Kent, James brings a wealth of voluntary and charity experience to his role. Despite “retiring” from SAR, James remains deeply involved in maritime safety by joining RNLI Dover as one of their Deputy Launch Authorities, continuing his commitment to serving his community at sea.

James’s passion for the water extends to his family life as well. As a devoted father to three boys—Ethan, Lucas, and William—he nurtures their love for the water and instills in them a sense of adventure. Often seen lending a hand around the boat during the season, the boys embody the essence of a true family experience, embracing their father’s legacy and cherishing every moment spent on the water together.
