The day started early in Falmouth with Chris taking the boat crew down to the boat from our beautiful campsite.
Once aboard, they made passage around the most westerly point of England, Land’s End. Before challenging the Bristol Channel!
They set their heading north towards Milford Haven. Despite some rolling Atlantic waves, the crossing of the Bristol Channel was relatively calm, allowing for an amazing experience with porpoises that joined the boat to play in our wake.
After seven hours at sea, the crew received a warm welcome from Blue Horizons Surf Club and the Port of Milford Haven.
Meanwhile, the land crew had an even longer journey, spending nine hours on the road. They drove back across Bodmin Moor, passed Glastonbury Tor, and headed over the Severn Bridge.
After reaching Wales, they continued along the M4 for another three hours before finally meeting up with the boat crew in Milford Haven.
It was a long but highly successful day, which included celebrating James’s birthday at the Ty Milford Waterfront Hotel, kindly provided by the Port of Milford Haven. A true haven to celebrate and lay our heads for the night.
This is the first time a Wetwheels boat has ever been to Wales, and we’re thrilled.
We have a”day off” on Saturday, during which time we will be running experiences for people out of Milford Haven alongside Blue Horizons Surf Club giving them the opportunity to access the sea on our powerboat.
Our aim with Finishing The Dream is to house a permanent Wetwheels boat in Wales.
This visit is crucial for bringing Geoff’s message, passion, and excitement for power boating to the people of Wales and spread the amazing opportunities we can offer.
